SUMMARY:Montreux Band Reunion at Napa Valley Opera House
DESCRIPTION:The much-loved band that re-defined and furthered the northern California sound and helped legitimize Windham Hill in the minds of many reunited for this very special show.Playing together for the first time in 20 years\, the Montreux Band revisits the music that defined Northern California in the 1980's. Darol Anger(violin)\, Barbara Higbie(piano)\, Mike Marshall( mandolin/guitar) and Michael Manring (fretless bass) were in their 20's when they created a new genre of music that rocketed from their \"Live at Montreux\" recording into heavy rotation on VH1\, 10 recordings for Windham Hill Records and 12 years of international touring.Virtuoso instrumentalists and accomplished composers who have played with everyone from David Grisman and Stephane Grappelli to Santana and Bonnie Raitt\, they have gone on to award winning solo careers. NVOH Artistic Director\, Peter Williams helped reunite the band for this unprecedented\, historic concert.
